Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on Monday, January 2024, promised that his administration would give more support to businesses and tourism in the state to thrive in 2024.
The governor spoke at Sol Beach Oniru, one of the venues for the 2024 countdown tagged ‘Greater Lagos Fiesta’.
Sanwo-Olu said that the countdown was successful because the state was peaceful,adding that the event, which was held simultaneously in six locations across Lagos; Sol Beach, Oniru, Agege, Epe, Ikorodu, Badagry and Ajegunle, showed Lagos as Africa’s foremost destination for music and entertainment.
He also said it was about supporting and appreciating the residents, culture, tourism and youth development.
The governor, accompanied by his deputy, Kadri Hamzat, and other state executive members further said the fiesta would be made bigger in 2024.
Attractions at the fiesta were displays of fireworks and performances by 25 artistes and comedians that included Innocent Idibia popularly known as Tuface; David Adeleke alias Davido; Oluwatobiloba Daniel Anidugbe also known as Kiss Daniel.
The special guest at the event was Niger State Governor, Umar Mohammed Bago. Aside state executive council members, there were lawmakers at both the state and federal in attendance just as former commissioners and Senators and House of Representatives members were also sighted.
