The Lagos State Government has resuscitated its annual end of the year fiesta tagged ‘Greater Lagos Fiesta’ after two consecutive years of break, with expected audience of over 200,000 for the 2022 edition.
This year’s edition is scheduled to hold between December 29 and January 1, 2023.
The fiesta was put on hold in 2020 and 2021 due to the Federal Government’s directive on COVID-19 pandemic protocols.
While announcing the return of the fiesta this year at a conference in Alausa, the Special Adviser to Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mr Femi Martins, disclosed that at least 10,000 people are from each five divisions of the state are expected to participate in the event.
The five divisions of the State that will hold the event are Ikorodu, Badagry, Epe, Agege and Lagos Island.
Martins said the fiesta, which began in 2012 was established to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Lagos, improves the economy of the state, as well as place the state as entertainment hub in Nigeria.
Small and Medium Enterprises who are expected to advertise their goods at the three-days event will pay N20,000 each and N30,000 for those on the Lagos Island division.

Martins expressed delight that the upcoming event would not only have impacts on young and talented artistes but at the same time, improve the economy of the State through MSMEs’ booming activities.
He assured that adequate security have been put in place to ensure the security of lives of those that would be attending.
