Gov. Umahi’s new media aide advises journalists to delve into developmental journalism

Newly-appointed Special Assistant on Media and Strategy to the Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Mr. Chooks Oko, has advised journalists to delve into Developmental Journalism through conflict management, dialogue and change than degenerative.

Mr. Oko made the advice when the Independent Media Practitioners Ebonyi state chapter paid him familiarization visit in his office old Government House Abakaliki.

The veteran Journalist who said, his new appointment is a call to more duty, want journalists in the state to work with him to deliver, noting that it is true Journalists that people shall know what Government is doing.

Mr. Oko advised Journalists to be objective in their reportage at all time, should not be influenced by brand envelope, affirming that Journalism deserve dignity and self respect.

“It is true that the way people shall know what is going on in the state, we are trying to push it higher,this will happen by replying on Press. You be involved in developmental journalism to move Ebonyi forward. I advise you to do Journalism with dignity and self respect considering the ethics of the profession” He said.

Mr. Chooks Oko was appointed Special Assistant on strategy to the Governor of Ebonyi State, now elevated to Special Assistant on Media and Strategy.
