Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State has suspended the State Coordinator of Fadama III Project, Dr. Cletus Nwakpu, over alleged financial impropriety.
In a similar vein, the State Executive Council has approved the distribution of Palliatives to residents of the state beginning from Saturday 18th July 2020.
Secretary to State Government (SSG), Dr. Kenneth Ugballa, made the assertion, in Abakaliki, the state capital, on Tuesday, during a media briefing on the outcome of the Executive Council meeting.
According to him, “Exco considered the report against the Coordinator of Fadama 111 Project Dr Nwakpu following report from Fiscal Responsibility Commission.”

Dr. Ugballa disclosed that the State Executive Council has slated Saturday 18th July 2020 for the commencement for the sharing of palliatives to the citizenry of the State.
“It will be done at the ward level , Polling Unit by Polling Unit, the highest Stakeholder from each Polling Unit will coordinate the sharing of the palliatives.
The Secretary to the State Government noted that the palliatives were geared towards cushioning the effects of Corona virus pandemic.
“All Political Parties are involved in the sharing of palliatives, the Christian Association of Nigeria is equally involved. every resident of the State would be given fair share of the palliative.
In a related development, Governor Umahi has appointed Engr. Frank Ngwu as his new Special Assistant on Road Maintenance.
Administering the oath of office on the appointee via Virtual Meeting held at the Executive Council Chambers, Umahi charged Engr. Ngwu to ensure aggressive maintenance of all roads in the state.
Umahi opined” the appointment of Engr. Frank Ngwu is purely on merit. He joined my Government as a Technical Assistant and he displayed enough zeal and commitment to his duties. He is one of the appointees that joined our Government from the opposition All Progressive Congress (APC) in the State.
“I am proud of him because he is a man of integrity. At the shopping mall where he was working, there’s no time of the day you won’t see him on duty.
Speaking against the backdrop of security situation in the State, Umahi frowned at the reoccurring skirmishes of crime and urged the three Special Assistants on Security to brace up to their responsibilities and ensure a crime free society.
