A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in Oyo State, Mr. Dare Adeleke has said that he received the death of a former governor of the state, Adebayo Alao Akala with shock.
Adeleke, who is Chairman, Oyo Pacesetters Transport Company, said in a statement that it was a most unexpected piece of sad news but God knows best.
According to the Pacesetter boss, “It was with utmost shock that I received the death of my former boss, Adebayo Alao Akala, who was a former Governor of Oyo State.

Alao Akala under whom I served as Special Adviser, Government Projects, was truly a kind hearted man who touched many lives.
He was an astute politician and a political force to reckon with in Nigeria.
Akala, served as Goevernor of Oyo State and underwent many travails but in all, he stood firm and continued to serve both at party and national levels.
He was indeed still a great politician in Oyo State until his death. Akala was a man of destiny and a jolly good fellow.

Adeleke says: “Akala’s death has again reminded humanity of the frailness of life and why we must all touch the lives of people we meet along the way in positive and impactful ways.
“Just as man was born on an apportioned date, death also comes on an appointed date” Adeleke stated adding that: “What really matters is the footprints we leave behind.”
He wished the bereaved family of the late Akala fortitude to bear the loss.
“I hereby extend my sympathy to the family family and pray that God gives them the fortitude to bear this great loss.”
