Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, on Thursday, visited the Assembly Residential Quarters where Martin Amaewhule-led lawmakers sit for lLegislative business, Punch reports.
Punch said that the facility was located along the Aba Road axis of Port Harcourt, the state capital.
The reason for the governor’s visit could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report as the 27 lawmakers did not sit today.

The governor has been having a running battle with the house dominated by members loyal to former governor Nyesom Wike for about six months now.
A viral video seen by our reporter showed the moment where the governor dressed in a blue jean, light green T-shirt and a cap to match, walked around the quarters with a retinue of security men and some of his aides.
After a few walks in from the fenced buildings, Fubara with a hand sign asked his aides and others to return, and he immediately hopped into his SUV and left.
This development came days after the Chief Tony Okocha-led caretaker committee of the All Progressives Congress asked the 27 lawmakers to commence the impeachment of the governor.

Also, the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria in the State led by its Chairman, Allwell Ihunda, backed the call for the Governor’s impeachment.
Ihunda, who is also the Chairman of the Port Harcourt City Local Government Area at a media briefing on Wednesday accused Fubara of withholding local government allocation for April without a reason.
