To this end, Governor Diri called on the Local Government Congress Management Committee to reach out to loyal and committed party faithful across the 8 local government areas and replicate the success recorded during the just concluded ward congress which he described as largely peaceful.
His words:”I want to thank you all for the successes recorded in the just concluded ward congress. We had a very peaceful ward congress, though in every event, there will be pockets of complaints and those complaints were equally addressed adequately.
“We need committed PDP members who will stand by our party under rain or shine. The charge is for you to go and ensure that you replicate what we have done with the ward congress.
“Look out for trusted and faithful party members who will not be induced by any amount of money or promises.”
Governor Diri who commended party leaders and members on the various roles they played in ensuring a successful ward congress in the state, stressed the need to build on the existing peace and unity among members.
He underscored the need for members to respect the party’s structures from the national to the ward level towards ensuring that the PDP remains the dominant party in the state to move the party to enviable heights.

In his speech, the PDP State Chairman, Mr. Moses Cleopas said the meeting was at the instance of the governor to appraise the conduct of the last ward congress in the state with a view to making amends where necessary ahead of the forthcoming local government congress in the state.
Mr Cleopas who described the ward congress as very orderly and peaceful, attributed the development to the concensus building approach adopted by the party leaders.
He noted that the national party officials who were in the state to oversee the exercise, lauded the state government for the peaceful manner in which it conducted the ward congress as there was no official petition in all the 105 wards.
