Gombe State coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr. David Markson, says a camp court has been established to try errant corps members while in camp.
Markson disclosed this, on Thursday, at the swearing-in of 1,400 Batch ‘C’, Stream I corps members at the temporary camp in Amada, Gombe State.
Said he, “A camp court has been constituted to try corps members found wanting. Such corps members shall be tried and appropriate sanctions as contained in the NYSC Bye laws and Act shall be meted out on them. In the same vein, a reward system has been put in place to reward outstanding corps members and camp officials at the end of this exercise.”

Governor Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State, who was represented by his deputy, Dr. Manassah Jatau, urged the corps members to adapt to the situation of the camp and the state.
In the words of the deputy governor, “I know what you are passing through; school has no end, be ready to learn. That is why the secret of survival is adaptation.
“If you are to survive, try and adapt to the environment you have found yourself. Don’t think your culture, philosophy is the general laws of nature, you must adapt to another.”
The state’s Head of Service, Bappayo Yahaya, commended the Director General of the NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Shaibu Ibrahim, for sustaining the impact and relevance of the scheme, citing, “his policy thrust of effective utilisation of the potentials of corps members nationwide and strengthening collaboration with stakeholders”.
