A 17-year olf girl, Aisha Kabiru, has been arrested for killing her neighbour, Bahijja Abubakar, 28, in Kano State.
The Police spokesperson in Kano, DSP Abdulahi Haruna Kiyawa said Aisha was arrested following a report received on August 19 that the victim was stabbed at the back of her neck and was left in the pool of her blood.
“Following the report, police operatives stormed the scene and found that the suspect had fled. The victim was rushed to the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital in Kano where she was admitted. Unfortunately, the following day, August 20, she died. On the same day, Aisha was rested”, Kiyawa said.
According to Kiyawa, Aisha made useful confessions and said she had a misunderstanding with the deceased and as a result, fighting ensued between them. They, however, settled the fight. After a while, Aisha took a knife and stabbed Bahijja at the back of her neck which led to her death.
