The Apex political body in Lagos State, the Governor’s Advisory Council, GAC, has approved Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for a second term in office.
The announcement was made after a five hours meeting of the council where it commended the governor for his developmental agenda for Lagos during his first term in office.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Gboyega Akosile confirmed the development on his Twitter handle.

Meanwhile, The Nigerian Xpress has reported that the Lagos State Police Command has arrested a lady, Tina Essi, for allegedly killing a 49-year-old tenant, Christian Akparie, at No 26 Orijamogun Street, Oreyo, Ikorodu, Lagos State.
It was learnt that the duo had a disagreement over the payment of electricity bill on January 31.
The disagreement reportedly degenerated into a fight, and Akparie sustained serious wounds from it.
He, however, died six days after the fight, while been rushed to the Ikorodu General Hospital for treatment.
It was gathered that Essi incidentally is daughter of the deceased’s landlady.
According to the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the suspect was arrested by operatives of the Ikorodu Police Division.
In a statement, on Wednesday, Adejobi said: “Police preliminary investigation revealed that an argument, over the payment of electricity bill ensued between the Landladys daughter, Ms Tina Essi and the deceased, both of the same address, which led to a fight.
