Outraged Nigerians want Twitter to suspend the handle belonging to the Nigerian President, Muhammadu Buhari over the ban on the social media site in the country on Friday.
#TwitterSuspendBuharisAccount is gaining traction on the microblogging site, packing over 50,000 tweets and accounting as at the time of this report.
Buhari’s government suspended Twitter in Nigeria after his tweet threatening genocide on citizens in the Southeast region of the country. His account was subsequently suspended for 12 hours.
If Twitter listens to users, Buhari will be the second president whose account will be suspended after former US president, Donald Trump.
