Forbes has ranked Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO) as the Most Powerful Woman in Africa.
Okonjo-Iweala, a prominent Nigerian, is ranked 87th in the Most Powerful Women in the World list, and the first in Africa, this overtaking Mpumi Madisa, a South African businesswoman who came in as 88th.

Other African women that made the list included Tanzanian President, Samia Hassan, ranked 93rd and another Nigerian, Mo Abudu at 98th.
The most powerful woman in the world for 2023 is Ursula von der Leyen, the President of the European Commission, who was recognised for her Impactful Policy and Budget.
While U.S. Vice President, Kamala Harris booked the third spot, Christine Lagarde, the European Central Bank President occupied the second position.
