The Lagos State Police command has arrested a fleeing Sergeant, Eze Aiwansone, attached to the Special Protection Unit (SPU) Base 16, Ikeja, for the shooting of his lover, Joy Eze.
It was gathered that the incident occurred October 8, at Opebi in Ikeja, Lagos, after the duo had a brief misunderstanding.
Eze was rescued by passerby who witnessed the shooting, and was rushed to a private hospital in Opebi.
Aiwansone, who had been on the run, was declared wanted by the command for the criminal offence.

According to the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the suspect was arrested by his elder brother who is an inspector of police in Lagos State and handed over to the command.
“The State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, has taken over the case on the instruction of the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, Hakeem Odumosu, for further investigation.
“The Commissioner of Police has however warned police personnel in Lagos State to desist from any act that can tarnish the image of the police; and be committed to the principles of Community Policing for better service delivery and public safety in the state. ”
