Fire razes six shops at Lagos police barracks

An early morning fire has razed six shops at Ogudu Police Barracks, at Ogudu area of Lagos State.

Although the cause of the fire was yet to be ascertained as at press time, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) said no live was lost nor any injured.

The Agency in a statement, on Thursday, said emergency collaborators had successfully extinguished the fire.

The statement signed by the Head Public Affairs, Nosa Okunbor said, “ The fire which cause is yet to be ascertained, reportedly started in the wee hours this morning from one of the shops.

“Though six from the 17 shops were razed in the incident, 11 were salvaged and the fire totally extinguished by combined efforts of the Agency’s Response Team and the Lagos Fire Service.

“Activities conducted in the razed shops by the fire out break at dawn involved two fashion design services, a pawn shop, event planning wares shop, a sport betting outlet and a Barber’s shop. No loss of lives nor injuries recorded.”
