The 2019 Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) President Golf Tournament has rounded off, in Owerri, the Imo State capital, with a female player, Katchy Patience, emerging the overall winner of the competition.
She came tops in the ICAN Ladies with 74 net, beating her only female opponent, Ify Nwachukwu, who came second with 111 net.
In the ICAN men’s category, Doyin Awolabi made 78 net to become winner while Abbey I. and Makinde emerged second with 78 net and third with 80 net, respectively
Bolu Gbadegosin lost out on count back in the Guest Men’s category with 75-5 = 70 net, while E. Onumajuru and Titus Promise won on count back with 70 net and 68 net winner new hand card 8:2= 8
Presenting the award to the winners at the event, ICAN President, Mazi Nnamdi Okwuadigbo, expressed joy over the outcome of the tournament, which, according to him, was organised to honour ICAN members.

He described the event as the celebration of Golf Tournament at the National Course, adding that Golf remains “the best game that makes one fit and remain mentally alert all the time.
The ICAN president also advised every golf players to imbibe the culture of transparency in life to ensure success.
In his speech at the event, the Captain of Arsenal team, Clifford Orjiako, stated that the essence of the tournament was to promote tourism in the state.
He said that the 5-day event in the state brougth together all players from across the country who enjoined the hospitality of the state.
He commended the organisers of the tournament for working tirelessly to ensure success.
In her speech, the overall winner, Catchy Patience, expressed joy for emerging winner of the tourney while thanking her husband forbringing her into golf.
