The Canada Coalition of Support Groups and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Canada chapter were delighted with the success of the campaign and town hall engagement with the Nigerian community in Canada for All Progressives Congress (APC)’s presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his running mate, Sen. Kashim Shettima.
The event, which had Dr. Abiola Oshodi as the keynote speaker was themed: Renewed Hope for A New Nigeria and took place on January 27, 2023, at White Oaks Conference Resort & Spa, Niagara, Ontario, Canada.
The event was put together by the APC Canada and the Canada Coalition of support groups. Other speakers that joined in Virtually were Hon. (Dr.) Betta Edu, APC National Woman Leader, Hon. Dayo Israel, APC National Youth Leader; Prince Ade Omole, Director of the APC Diaspora Directorate and Engr. Ifeoluwa Oyedele, the Executive Director of Niger Delta Power Holding Company Limited.

The event was an opportunity for the speakers to address Nigerians in the Diaspora and others who joined online on the merit of voting for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. They also aimed at influencing a vast number of voters in Nigeria for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Kashim Shettima and other APC Candidates in the coming election.
In the opening remark from the organizing chairman; Mr. Ibraheem-Ola Haruna, he alluded to the fact that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu represents a prominent transitional leader that will change the trajectory of development for Nigeria, Africa and the entire black race thus enjoining Nigerians to vote for Asiwaju because, beyond party affiliation and religious or ethnic considerations, he has been proven to walk his talk. Hon. Nick Apata, the APC Canada Chairman, delivered a speech by Mr. Ibraheem-Ola Haruna; he welcomed everyone to the event and affirmed that Asiwaju’s mandate could take Nigeria out of the current doldrums.
The Chairman of the Coalition of Support Groups in Canada and the event convener, Mr Olujimi Adekanle, also spoke about Tinubu as a progressive that awakened the consciousness of the Nigerians through opposition against a one-party state.
In the keynote address, Dr. Abiola Oshodi dissected the “Renewed Hope” manifesto of Tinubu/Shettima holistically, explaining in detail the plan to use technology, more funding and recruitment of more personnel to tackle insecurity. The goal is to make Nigeria self-sufficient in Agriculture and to consolidate the effort of Buhari’s administration on Power. More areas of the manifesto were also dissected to the amusement of the august gathering.
The Canada Coalition of Support Groups and APC Canada comprise several support groups with foot soldiers in Nigeria and APC Canada. The group and their representatives present at the summit were Bola Ahmed Solidarity Team (BATS Team) of Ibraheem Ola Haruna, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Support Group Canada (ABATSG) of Hon. Akintunde Hareef Akerele (TFL), Oshodi For Tinubu/Shettima Media Group & Patriots of Bola Ahmed Tinubu (POBAT) of Dr. Abiola Oshodi, Asiwaju-Shettima Presidential, Agenda (ASPA) of Adeshina Keshinro, Lagosians in Diaspora For Asiwaju of Saheed (Tito) Lawal, Asiwaju Tinubu Frontiers of Olujimi Adekanle, Ahmed Tinubu Volunteers in Canada of Hon. Mrs. Tolulope Oluwagbemi Ajibabi, and All Progressive Congress Canada of Nick Apata.
The City of Niagara Falls Councilor Mona also graced the occasion. She spoke about the emerging youth population and how the incoming administration can leverage them to her economic advantage. Speaking in the same vein, was the City of St. Catherine’s representative, Member of Parliament, Jennie Stevens. She spoke about the need for the incoming administration to partner with the city to herald mutual economic benefit that will advance national prosperity.
The event ended with closing remarks from Mrs. Olayinka Animashaun, the deputy organizing committee Chairperson who thanked everyone that attended the event across Canada, from the United States of America and those that joined virtually from all over the world.
