Immediate past Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has told the Special Adviser to President on Political Matters, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, that he would find no refuge in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), describing him as having “no electoral values”.
The Ekiti APC has been at war with itself, as Ojudu is leading some party members in a fight with Governor Kayode Fayemi over the governor’s alleged dictatorial tendencies and victimisation of party members.
However, speaking on a radio in Ado Ekiti, the state capital, Ojudu provoked Fayose when he said he would never join the PDP if the crisis in APC remained intractable.
“If I die and they put PDP flag on my coffin, I will wake up, tear it and go back to sleep,” the former lawmaker reportedly said.
Reacting to what he obviously saw as insult to the PDP, the former governor said: “Apart from them not having electoral values, they are blackmailers and individuals whose needs are insatiable. Above all, God’s anger has caught up with them in their inordinate quest for power”.
In a tweet, on Thursday, by his Media Aide, Lere Olayinka, Fayose described Senator Ojudu as a selfish political “opportunist”, saying: “He fought against Niyi Adebayo, me, Segun Oni and he is fighting Fayemi now. Who will please him in Ekiti?” Fayose asked.
“He (Ojudu) is a political opportunist, a senator by accident, who is always striving to destroy any government in which he can’t have his way.
“Therefore, he can continue with his usual voyage of political blackmail, that is his business and that of his coronavirus-infected APC party.
“As for us in the PDP, we are not interested in making any gain from the reckless political life of a man, who does nothing other than to destroy the government of Ekiti.”
