Fayemi gives out free JAMB forms to 2,000 candidates in Ekiti.

Ekiti State government has distributed no fewer than 2,000 free Joint Admission Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to qualified candidates across the 16 Local Government Areas of the state, this was to further portray the resolve of the Fayemi-led administration to boost the education sector.
The First Lady of Ekiti State, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, on Thursday, said education remains the right of every youth of the state and not a privilege for some few.
She stated this at the flag off of the distribution of free Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to qualified indigenes across the 16 local government areas of the state.No fewer than 2,000 forms were distributed free at the event which took place at Ola Oluwa Muslim Grammar School, Ado-Ekiti.

Erelu Fayemi in her remarks at the event said: The State government’s investment in the youths was borne out of the awareness that Ekiti youths have a right to tertiary knowledge and education adding that they also need to be able to key into the knowledge driven economy of the administration.”
She further explained that the administration has committed N14, 339,000.00) to the process of purchasing the 2020 JAMB pins, creation of profile, provision of e-training as well as JAMB online registration and thumb printing exercise at no cost to the candidates.
“ This, according to her, is to ensure that qualified students in the 16 local government areas of the state benefit from the programme.
The beneficiaries were chosen, having obtained a minimum of six credit passes in either West African Examinations Council (WAEC) or National Examinations Council of Nigeria (NECO) at one sitting”, she said.
Erelu Fayemi also said the programme is also to lift financial burden off parents, while advising parents to encourage their children to take advantage of the opportunity and study hard in the forthcoming examination for a bright future.
“Parents should seize the moment to encourage their wards to give the exercise all the seriousness it deserves. It is indeed an avenue for candidates to press forward in to their future,” she said.
 “I urge the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by being committed to your studies and make sure you pass your JAMB examination,” she advised. 
In his remarks the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Mr Foluso Daramola, said the distribution of the free JAMB forms to the qualified youths shows the importance of education and learning to the state government.
“The distribution of e-pins to qualified indigenes of Ekiti state is in continuation of Dr. Kayode Fayemi’s resolve to recapitalize education in Ekiti state and take the sector to greater heights. It is on record that this administration is committed to strengthening education at all levels, so that the less privileged will have a feel of governance.”
He also advised the beneficiaries to ensure adequate use of the programmes. 
Present at the event were: Permanent Secretary, Scholarship Board, Mrs. Bimpe Osundare, Permanent Secretary Women Affairs and Social Development, Dr Eunice Oladimeji, and other government officials.
