Electoral officials at the 024 polling centre at Abuja Guest House, Maitama in the FCT, have confirmed that four card readers deployed to the unit are faulty.
However, one of them told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that INEC had been informed with a view to either fix the machines or replace them.
NAN also reports that voters at the centre expressed disappointment with the development and began to chant “we must vote, we must vote” on sighting the Commissioner of Police in charge of the FCT, Mr Bala Ciroma.

Ciroma assured them that steps would be taken to fix the machines to enable them to exercise their franchise.
Accreditation and voting had commenced without hitch at other polling units monitored by the Commissioner along with other security agencies including Garki market, Area 8 and presidential villa. (NAN)
