The police have arrested a 44-year-old father and his 19-year-old son, for allegedly raping and impregnating a 13-year-old girl (name withheld).
The father, Mr.Kabiru Oke and his son, Oke Faruq, were said to have been having canal knowledge of the victim for over six months.
The victim, it was learnt, was living with her mother’s sister who is married to Oke at No 1 Olatikupo Street, Egbeda, Lagos.
She alleged she was threatened by her abusers not to tell anyone about the act or be killed. The suspects were however arrested by the police after the victim’s mother had reported the matter.
Confirming the incident, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Elkana Bala said, the Command’s gender unit received the complaint March 27, 2019. “ The victim (name withheld), lived with the perpetrators for a couple of years. The unholy affairs between the minor and the first suspect, Oke, started in October 2018, with the suspect having constant sexual intercourse with the survivor.
“ The second suspect, being the son of the first suspect started having unlawful carnal knowledge of the same minor in January 2019. The suspects have constantly threatened to kill the victim if she ever tells anybody about the affairs.
“ The victim exposed them when her mother suspected some changes in her and discovered that she is pregnant,” he said.
Bala disclosed that the victim was taken to Mirabel Centre by the Gender Unit for medical examination, while the two suspects were arrested and charged to court.

“The suspects were charged to Magistrate Court 2 Ogba for defilement. The case was adjourned for May 5, 2019 while the suspects were remanded in Kirikiri prison,” he said.
Similarly, a 45 year old man, Marainerume Alfred of Oke Itunu Church Close, Ejigbo was arrested for defiling a 14 year old girl.
The matter was also reported at the Gender Unit by the Mother of the victim.The complainant stated that the suspect was their neighbour.
It was alleged that the suspect always accousted the victim whenever she was returning from school, and lured her into his shop where he had unlawful sexual intercourse with her.
The Lagos PPRO also said, “ The crime started from May 2018 up to March 27, 2019. The suspect, in his statement to the Police, revealed that he turned the victim into his sex partner after he divorced his wife in May 2018.
“ The matter was discovered by the victim’s grandmother who perceived some odours from her body when she returned home and subjected her to questioning.
“ The survivor opened up to her grandmother and narrated the whole story. She further stated that, the suspect threatened that she will die if she ever disclose it to her parents.
“ The victim also revealed that the suspect usually give her some drugs to take and equally mix salt and water for her to take after sex to prevent her from getting pregnant.”
Bala said investigation is ongoing as the suspect will soon be charged to Court for defilement.
