An Ondo based commercial motorcyclist, Bayo Akinfenwa, has landed in prison for allegedly raping his 16-year old daughter.
The accused was charged and arraigned before the Chief Magistrates’ Court, presided by Magistrate Folashade Aduroja, in Akure on a one count charge of rape.
According to the police prosecutor, Supol Matins Olowofeso, the accused committed the offence sometime in March, 2023 in his residence, Ayeyemi Akintunde Street, Ondo State.
He was alleged to have ‘unlawfully have carnal knowledge of your daughter, one 16-year-old Akinfenwa, at midnight,’ an offence the prosecutor said contravenes Sections 357 and 358 of the Criminal Law of Ondo State, 2006.
The Chief Magistrates however did not take the plea of the defendant, and ordered him to be remanded at Olokuta Correctional Centre pending the issuance of legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecutions, PDP.
She adjourned the case till May 25 to enable the defendant to file a counter affidavit to the application.
