An Okitipupa Chief Magistrates’ Court in Ondo State on Wednesday remanded a 20 year-old farmer, Yusuf Azuna, in prison for allegedly defiling an eight-year-old girl.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr Musa Al-Yunus, who gave the order, said that the defendant should be remanded in prison custody until May 25 for further hearing of the case.

The defendant of no fixed address had pleaded not guilty to the two-count charge bordering on assault and defilement.
The Prosecutor, Insp. Zedekiah Orogbemi, earlier told the court that the defendant on December 13, 2018 around 07:00 a.m. at Lafe village in Okitipupa, was caught assaulting his neighbour’s daughter.
He said that the defendant had canal knowledge of the girl without her consent.
Orogbemi said the offence contravened Sections 355 and 218, Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State, 2006. (NAN)
