A former Aviation minister, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode, has called on the United Kingdom to recall its envoy in Nigeria, Amb. Ben Llewellyn-Jones, for getting involved in the country’s politics.
Recall that the British Deputy High Commissioner to Nigeria, Llewellyn-Jones, called out Mr. Fani-Kayode for comments he made during the governorship election in Lagos.
Amb. Llewellyn-Jones also said the All Progressives Congress (APC) ought to have distanced itself from the comments of Mr. Fani-Kayode on Lagos State belonging to Yoruba people.

He stated that the UK was already collating names of perpetrators and would impose sanctions which would include preventing people from obtaining UK visas or imposing sanctions.
On Monday, Mr. Fani-Kayode, who served as a spokesman for the APC presidential campaign Council, in a series of tweets said foreign diplomats are not supposed to interfere in Nigeria’s affairs.
On Tuesday, in another series of tweets, Mr. Fani-Kayode said Llewellyn-Jones was not fit to work for the British High Commission in Nigeria.
“I call on the British Govt. to recall Ben Llewellyn-Jones, the Dep. British High Commissioner, from our country for interfering in our internal affairs and attempting to involve himself in our politics,” Mr. Fani-Kayode said.

“Like a bull in a China shop, he is bullish, uncouth, dangerously incompetent and painfully inconsiderate.
“He is better suited to work as an air host/hostess on British Airways, serving drinks and food to the passengers in the economy class of the long haul London/New York trans-Atlantic flight route, than working for the British High Commission in Nigeria.
“It is a sign of great disrespect to our country that a so-called diplomat that is as shallow, dim-witted, intellectually-stunted, partisan, unprofessional, partial, arrogant, forward, disrespectful and limited in his knowledge base as this can be sent here to represent the UK.
“We deserve far better.“
Mr. Fani-Kayode said he is still waiting for evidence of his so-called “hate speech” against the Igbo from him.
He insisted that there is no hate speech in his statement that Lagos belongs to the Yoruba and is not “no man’s land”.
