Falcons Media Officer, Nweze hails home-based players

Super Falcons media officer, Jane Nweze has given thumbs up to the home based players that represented Nigeria at the Women’s World Cup hosted by France declaring that they added value to the team.
Nweze noted that there has been a remarkable improvement in the domestic league in the last couple of years, a situation that saw the homers doing well in the national team.
“There has been remarkable improvement in the league for the third year running. The glamorous Super 4 and of course the AITEO cup have all summed up to put the girls plying their trade at home in top form and shape. Chidinma Okeke for instance, was a good ambassador in France. She stepped into the shoes of Faith Ikidi comfortably when Ikidi got injured,” Nweze explained.
She further attributed the brilliant showing of Rivers Angels goaltender, Chiamaka Nnadozie in France to the strong league back home.
“Nnadozie took the world by storm and also emerged as the youngest goalkeeper to have kept a clean sheet in a match at the World Cup. Oluehi who she displaced in post is also from the NWPL. That shows how solid the NWPL players are.”
It would be noted that a good number of NWPL players have moved Oversees in the last two seasons. The roll call of those now plying their trade outside the nation’s shores include Rasheedat Ajibade, Peace Effih , Anam Imo and Rubean Charity.
The Falcons were in France with seven home based players with Rivers Angels recording the highest number of four players.
Below is The Falcons home based players and their clubs:
