Explosion wreaks havoc in Lagos, two die, shops razed
An explosion at a gas retail shop in Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos State has left tears and sorrow, claiming two lives and razing four shops.
According to SP Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson of the state police command in a post on his official X handle on Wednesday, the incident occurred at the Abule Pan, Lekki Epe Expressway in the Ibeju Lekki area on Tuesday.
“It is just a week and we have recorded another gas explosion at a gas retail shop, this time in Ibeju-Lekki,” the post read.
“Sadly, two persons died, three persons sustained injuries and four shops got razed. Let us prevent avoidable deaths. Let us be safety-conscious at all times.”
