The Principal Private Secretary to the deposed emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, Mujtaba Abba, has resigned his appointment with the Kano Emirate Council.
Abba is half brother to the deposed Kano emir.
It was gathered that Abba voluntarily relinquished his traditional title of ‘Falakin Kano’.
He told journalists, on Tuesday, that he tendered his resignation in a letter written to the Secretary of the Kano Emirate Council, and copied the Councilor, Finance in the emirate.
Abba was appointed by Sanusi and subsequently elevated to the position he held when the former monarch parted ways with his uncle, Isa Sanusi, who was the first person to hold the post in Kano emirate.
Abba did not disclose the reason behind his voluntary resignation.
