A 46-year-old man, Olusegun Oluwole, has landed inside the net of the Ogun State Police Command for allegedly raping his 17-year-old daughter.
It was gathered that the suspect reportedly sneaked into his daughter’s room and forcefully had carnal knowledge of her.
According to the Police spokesman in the state, SP Abimbola Oyeyemi, the suspect was arrested, following a complaint the victim lodged at Ibara Police Station.
The victim whose identity was withheld disclosed that she was sleeping in their apartment at Amolaso area of Abeokuta, the state capital, at about 11:30pm when the suspected violated her.

“The victim said, having observed that others were fast asleep, the father suddenly grabbed her and forcefully had sex with her with a threat to kill her if she refused to allow him,” Oyeyemi said in a statement.
“Upon the report, the DPO Ibara division, CSP Bernard Egbondiya, quickly detailed his detectives to the scene, where the suspect was promptly arrested.
“On interrogation, the father of six, who confessed to the crime, pleaded for forgiveness, claiming not knowing what came over him when he committed the crime.”
However, the police spokesman added that the state Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole, had ordered the transfer of the suspect to State Criminal investigation Department, SCID, for further investigation and possible prosecution. The victim was also taken to general hospital for medical attention.
