Enemies  have penetrated Eagles camp –NFF

By George Aluo

Officials of Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) have fingered their enemies as being the architects of the revolt in Super Eagles camp before the game against Guinea which the Eagles won by a lone goal.

It would be noted that Super Eagles players had before the game against Guinea staged a no training protest insisting that the soccer federation should settle all the monies they are being owed.

The players also boycotted the pre-game press conference organized by the Confederation of African football (CAF).

Although the issues were quickly resolved, a situation that saw the boys coming all out against Guinea, a top NFF official told The Nigerian Xpress Sports exclusively that the mind of the boys appears to have been poisoned by those fighting the Amaju Pinnick led board.

According to our source, the same players that had all this while been on the same page with the cash strapped NFF have all of a sudden started singing a different tone, with talk of money now being on the front burner.

“My brother, as we speak the body language of the players out there in camp has changed. They have all of a sudden started making demands that they were not making before. The truth is that our enemies have infiltrated the camp and they have started telling the players to hold us to ransom. Some people are feeding the players with wrong information,” our source said.

He stressed that the protests staged by both the Falcons and Flying Eagles in France and Poland were also instigated by those he kept referring as enemies.

“There are some enemies that are hell bent on seeing that we don’t succeed. They were the ones that pushed both the Falcons and Flying Eagles to protest after losing out in France and Poland. I just don’t understand why some people are working against the country just because they are not controlling the Glass House. Here in Egypt, for instance, there was no basis for the players to have complained at all because what we were owing them was just one match bonus. And before the federal government made money available the board did everything to make the players comfortable,” our source stressed.

He pointed out that the Eagles need not be distracted by money issues if they are to go all the way in Egypt where they landed in the second round even before yesterday’s game against Madagascar.

The Eagles had in their first game beaten Burundi by a lone goal and also defeated Guinea by the same margin midweek.

Nigeria, alongside host Egypt and Senegal are top favorites for the AFCON 2019 diadem.
