The Lagos Police Public Relations (PPRO), Olumuyiwa Adejobi, had earlier stated that the Lagos Police Boss, Hakeem Odumosu had directed all operatives not to be come confrontational, while dealing with protesters.
Adejobi who also spoke on the blockage of major roads by protesters in the state, said the protesters are enjoying their human right.
“We have told them and they said no they won’t leave the roads, it is good they are doing it to their fellow Nigerians. Many of them don’t know why they are protesting. Many of them are not reasonable. When they see a policeman, they want to attack them. They say they are protesting for the interest of the police, yet they are fighting the police.
“If not for the fact that we are just look at them and try to manage confrontational issues, it would have degenerated, but the CP has said just leave them if they slap you run away, if they want to collect your gun, run away with the gun. If anything happened the police will be abused, so it is better we just look at them as they do their thing, ” he stated.
