Most Reverend Ignatius Kaigama, the Catholic Archbishop of Jos, has commended Plateau State residents for conducting themselves peacefully during the Presidential and National Assembly elections.
Kaigama said this on Saturday shortly after casting his vote at Jenta Adamu community of Jos North Local Government Area of the state.
According to him, the peaceful atmosphere in the state indicates that the people want a rancour-free elections.
“I see an atmosphere of peace and tranquility, where people are not terribly excited which means there is no sign of danger.

“From reports, there is no sign of rancour anywhere in the state, but a calm atmosphere where people cast their votes peacefully.
“This goes to show that Nigerians are ready to elect credible leaders who will serve them well.
“So, I want to commend the good people of Plateau State and urge them to maintain the tempo in the forthcoming governorship election, ” he said.
Kaigama appealed to the people to remain peaceful by the time the results would be announced, urging both winners and losers to accept the verdict of the people in good faith.
He also urged the electoral body to be transparent, neutral and ensure that results that would be announced reflect the actual outcome of the polls. (NAN)
