The family of Elder Patron Udo Umoren Akpan, JP has announced his passing on at the age of 81.
The Chief Mourner, Sir Etekamba Umoren, former secretary to the government of Akwa Ibom State extolled the virtues of Elder Patron Udo Umoren Akpan as a disciplinarian, educationist, devout Christian and lay preacher in the Methodist Church Nigeria as well as a community leader who impacted a lot on his pupils most of whom grew up to occupy top positions in government, the private sector and the church.
The deceased was said to have served meritoriously and retired as a headmaster in 1990 after working in various primary schools in Akwa Ibom.
According to Sir Umoren, the late Pa Umoren Akpan raised all his children with strict discipline and inculcated strong Christian values in them.
He said the deceased would be buried on Friday, September 25, 2020 after a funeral service at the Methodist Church of Nigeria, Ukana Ikot Ide, Essien Udim Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State.
