The Ekiti State Commissioner for Information and Values Orientation,Aare Muyiwa Olumilua, has restated government’s commitment to abide by the rules of the law.
Aare Olumilua stated this in Ado-Ekiti while addressing Journalists after the Valedictory session held in honour of the out-going Head of Service in Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodeji Ajayi.
The Commissioner who explained that the sacked University workers have the right to seek redress at the court of law if actually they have genuine cases condemned in its entirety the act of “protest” by the affected workers.

He opined that the alleged sacked workers were found to have falsified credentials and age, as many of them left primary schools when they were three or four years old as claimed by them.
Olumilua added that, the State Governor did not have anything to do with the running of the University and is usually addressed as a “visitor to the Institution”. According to the Governing Council of the Institution “It was discovered that many of the laid off workers were not truthful in their documents as there were irregularities in the employment process.”
He noted that, out of many that were initially laid off, some have presented genuine cases and they have been reinstated by the management of the Institution and not by the Governor.
