A First Class monarch in Ekiti State, the Attah of Ayede-Ekiti, in Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State, Oba Abdul-Mumini Adebayo Orisagbemi, on Sunday, survived a vicious attack by unknown gunmen suspected to be kidnappers.
Oba Adebayo, who was travelling along the Isan-Ekiti – Ayede road was reportedly shot at about 8:30pm but he survived.

Last year, the monarch had previously escaped an earlier attempt to abduct him by kidnappers, prowling the area.
According to sources, the alleged kidnappers, who were said to be up to 10 in number, fired shots into the vehicle, conveying the monarch, resulting in grievous gunshots wounds on his leg.
“The traditional ruler was travelling along the road around 8:30 pm which is now notorious for kidnappings and attacks by bandits,” the source said.
“The gunmen wanted to kidnap him and fired several shots into his car but due to the deft move by his driver, they managed to escape from the scene but unfortunately, the shots hit the monarch in the leg.
“As I speak with you, Kabiesi is now in the hospital receiving treatment over the gunshots wounds, especially in his legs, we pray for his quick recovery.”
Spokesman of the state police command, Sunday Abutu, ASP, said the monarch was returning from Ijero-Ekiti when the gunmen attacked him.
Abutu said: “He was returning from Ijero when the unknown gunmen came out from the bush and opened fire on his vehicle around 9 pm. In the process, he sustained a gunshot wound in his leg and currently receiving and responding to treatment in one hospital.
“Efforts is ongoing to arrest the gunmen and bring them to justice.”
