Ekiti federal lawmaker appoints 35 aides to fight poverty

The Chairman, House of  Representatives Committee on Federal Road Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Hon. Femi Bamisile, has appointed 35 aides to help in the discharge of his duties as a federal legislator and to also combat the scourge of poverty.
 The lawmaker, representing Ekiti South Federal Constituency II, said the measures was to ensure that he spreads the dividends of democracy across the three local governments within his constituency.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti, on Wednesday, Bamisile stated that the appointees were picked across Gbonyin, Ekiti East and Emure council areas that constitute the federal constituency.
Bamisile added that the aides will interact and give information that would help him in the areas of politics, women affairs, youth development, infrastructures and empowerment.
He stated that the appointments  “offered opportunity to empower  my constituents and make them self independent and economically viable to be able to add values to the society.”
The federal lawmaker said: “the welfare of my people will be taken as a priority, because the level of poverty is high and people rely heavily on political leaders to survive and we must not disappoint them.
“I charge the appointees to relate well with other constituents and get veracious information that will help me in all my intervention programmes that will benefit widows, unemployed youths, farmers, women groups and other strata of our society”, he added.
