Diezani Alison-Madueke, former Minister of Petroleum Resources, is in for more troubles, following the commencement of her extradition process from the United Kingdom back to Nigeria by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) which has also obtained an arrest warrant as it begins the .
The anti-graft agency has levelled a 13-count charge, bordering on money laundering against the former minister, who served under ex-President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.
The EFCC disclosee that the money laundering charges cover four jurisdictions in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and Nigeria.
Alison-Madueke has just been granted a £70,000 bail when she appeared before the Westminster Magistrates Court in London over an alleged £100,000 bribe.
The district judge, Michael Snow, also attached other conditions to the bail, including an 11 pm to 6 am curfew, an electronic tag to be worn by her at all times and a £70,000 surety to be paid before she could leave the court building.
