Educate young ones on sound cultural mannerisms to fight moral decadence, ESCAC DG urges parents

Parents have been advised to instill in their children/ wards, sound cultural mannerisms that will help them relate well with other people wherever they may find themselves and have ill-free society.
The Director General, Ekiti State Council of Arts and Culture (ESCAC), Amb. Wale-Ojo Lanre, gave the charge in his welcome address on Tuesday, in Iworoko-Ekiti, during the kiddies cultural presentation to announce the commencement of Ekifest 2019 edition held at Motif Amusement Park, Iworoko-Ekiti.
Wale-Ojo advised parents to assist in reviving culture by teaching their children on ways of respect and good human relations in which we are known for.

” Teach your children good culture from the cradle on ways of greetings (kneeling and prostrating), dressing the hair (weaving and nice cut ), clothing, home chores, patronizing culturally made goods, on choice of friends and others, said, these habits if well practiced would fight moral defects among youths.
“Don’t let our culture die. Western ways are fast eroding our cultural heritage. We must not allow western ways to take our culture away from us. It is our identity. It is our heritage and we must protect it”, he said.
Kids drawn from schools across the 16 local government areas of the state participated in the presentation to hunt and promote cultural talents and implant in them pure cultural values of Ekiti State.
The event proper starts today December 11-13.
