Police operatives in Edo State, in collaboration with other security forces, have rescued 12 more victims of the train attack that took place in Igueben Train Station in the state.
The state’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mohammed Dankwara, in an e-signed statement made available to newsmen on Sunday, disclosed that the joint security forces, acting on intelligence stormed Igboa Forest and rescued the 12 victims unhurt.

The rescued victims were identified as: Unice Esaba (56yrs); Marian Mowoe (28yrs); Faith Smart (42years); Precious Egwuje (28yrs); Obehi Omaben (39yrs); Amm Benson (42yrs); Favour Akungo (18yrs); Akhimen Ehiemamen (48yrs); Christian Iyere (33yrs); Emmanuel Esieba (67yrs); Iyoha Julius (25yrs); Aguelle Beatrice (42yrs).
Dankwara added that two more victims who he identified as ‘members of staff of the Nigeria Railway Corporations’ are still captivity of theirkidnappers.
The CP assured that security agents were cooperating with local vigilant groups towards ensuring that the the two victims are safely rescued.
With the additional rescue of the 12 victims, a total number of 18 victims have been rescued so far.
