Sen. Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke, on Sunday, congratulated Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State on his victory at the just-concluded governorship election in the state, saluting the electorates in the state for their courage in stamping out godfatherism and resisting the alluring temptation of vote buyers and election riggers.
In a post on his Facebook page, Sen. Adeleke wrote, “I hereby extend my congratulations to Governor Obaseki on this hard fought and well-deserved victory.

“I’m confident that Edo people will continue to enjoy unhindered development in every sector of the state as it is the tradition of our great party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).”
Senator Adeleke lauded the Deputy Governor, Philip Shuaibu, for his unwavering commitment and loyalty to the cause, saying that even in the face of enormous pressure “Mr. Philip Shuaibu persevered and stood by his boss, earning him the outpour of commendation from everyone who value the essence of loyalty.

“It is worthy to acknowledge the improvement in professional conduct of INEC as well as the committed officers of the various security agencies involved in this election, the hope of a better Nigeria is rekindled with the sustainance of such levels of professionalism.
“I celebrate the heroes of this movement to stamp out tyranny and oppression in Edo; the brave men and women, young and old who trouped out to vote and firmly resist undemocratic and retrogressive forces. “They maintained support for Obaseki against all odds. They are truly heroes and serve as great motivation to us all, particularly Osun and Ondo voters, who are gearing up for a similar feat.”
