Ebonyi PDP boss urges EBSIEC to consider shifting council polls
…Says 30 days notice of elections inadequate

Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in Ebonyi State, Mr. Tochukwu Okorie, has appealed to the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission (EBSIEC) to shift council elections as a result of brevity of period mapped out for the exercise.
Mr. Okorie made the appeal while briefing Journalists at the PDP Office Abakaliki, on the nitty-gritty of the party Ward, Counsellors and Local Government Council Chairmen Primary elections.
He said that PDP would not hastate to raise alarm on any act of omission or commission that will jeopardise the credible conduct of the election.

He expressed optimism that PDP will take back Ebonyi State in the 2023 general elections in spite the crisis in the part now.
In his words, “That we have resolved to participate in the election does not mean that we are comfortable with everything that has gone especially the brevity of time, the 30 days’ notice of election is grossly inadequate.

“I appeal that EBSIEC should consider shifting the elections. Notwithstanding the crises in PDP, I believe that PDP is a party to be in Ebonyi state.
“APC doesn’t exist in Ebonyi, it exist only in Government House and Uburu. PDP will soon take back Ebonyi.”
The PDP chairman further encouraged women to join in the elections, adding that any woman that put herself forward for election would get the full support of the party.
