Ebonyi lawmaker trains female students on skill acquisition

The Member representing Ohaozara East  Constituency in the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Hon (Mrs.)  Lilian Nwachukwu has organised a day empowerment scheme for girl children in  secondary schools within her Constituency.
The students drawn from different schools in the area, were trained on how to produce various household items including Liquid Soap, Dettol, Custard, Gilk, Izail car wash, among others.
Speaking during the training programme, Hon Lilian Nwachukwu who noted that the project is her pet project ‘ Girl Child Education In Ohaozara East’ said that the Skill acquisition initiative was to gainfully involve female students in some trades that would equip them so as to reduce girl children fall victims of social vices in the society, such as human trafficking, harloting, child abuse etc.
The State lawmaker who expressed joy that there’s still hope among the female students after the training, equally tasked them to register their inaugurated Girls Club as Cooperative Society as to ease them gain better financial opportunities in the future.
Hon. Nwachukwu further emphasised that busy youths and girls have no time to think of social vices and promised to continue giving the students desired support to harness their talents.
On her part, the Resource Person in the program, Mrs. Blessing Oko Udu charged the participants to utilize the opportunity, learn various skills packed in the scheme. She commended Hon. Nwachukwu for the her proactiviness which she said had distinguished her from her colleagues law maker, adding that such program would curtail the problem of unemployment in the country.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, Miss. Agwu Blessing of Mgbom Achara Comprehensive Secondary School and Miss. Angela Eze of Ezi Okposi High School said  the interest of the Lawmaker in the educational sector has made it possible for some girl Children in the area have a lifeline in the attainment of qualitative education.
Meanwhile, the participants were tasked to submit their packed products with the name of their schools within 3 weeks of the training.
