A driver, Kingsley Edem, 28, who allegedly punched his employer in the mouth during a disagreement, on Thursday appeared in an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court.
The police charged Edem, who resides at No.14, Adetuberu Street, Olowora, Lagos State, with assault .
He however denied committing the offence.
The Police Prosecutor, Sgt. Ishola Samuel, said that the defendant who is a driver to the complainant, Femi Badmus, allegedly punched him during a disagreement.
Samuel alleged that Edem punched Badmus many times, inflicting a deep cut in the mouth.

He said that the defendant committed the offence on March 9, at No 19 Ogunbeye St., Olowora, Lagos state.
The offence, he said, contravenes the provisions of Section 173 of the revised Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Section 173 stipulates a three-year jail term for any offender if found guilty.
Magistrate A. I. Abina, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N10,000 with one surety in like sum.
Abina ordered that the surety must be gainfully employed and should show evidence of two years’ tax payment to the Lagos State Government.
The magistrate adjourned the case until April 8 for mention. (NAN)
