No fewer than 500 entrepreneurs and business owners are to benefit from free digital skills training by SKDC Global Limited and Mind the Gap team of Google in Nasarawa State.
Mrs Stella Ajige, the Chief Executive Officer/Managing Director of SKDC company, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)
on Friday in Lafia that the training would be online so as to aid the trainees to learn at their pace.
She, however, said that upon completion of the online training, they would undergo offline practical training classes for a
period of two months and written examinations before receiving certificates.
SKDC global is an emerging company established by a group of entrepreneurs specialised in different endeavours,
including fashion designing, catering service, entertainment and ICT.

Currently, the organisation is championing the creation of opportunities for small and large-scale businesses to thrive in Nasarawa State.
Ajige told NAN that SKDC global limited and Mind the Gap team from Google had so far trained 150 entrepreneurs and business
owners in various digital skills in the last two months.
According to her, the training is imperative for every entrepreneur and business owner to leverage on online marketing to
do more robust and sustainable businesses, given the attention the society placed on online business.
She added that “the Google digital skills training for Africa will no doubt help entrepreneurs and business owners to create
contents that will attract customers to their businesses.
“SKDC in partnership with Mind the Gap team from Google skills for Africa trained over 150 entrepreneurs and business owners
so far; we are targeting 500 entrepreneurs and business owners in Nasarawa State.
“The training is in batches, so that no entrepreneur or business owner will be left, considering the importance of digital skills
in a modern business environment.
“Infact, online business dominates the physical business environment, hence the need for every entrepreneur to acquire
digital skills to be able to rank high in a digital service, that is our belief.”

The company boss said that the second batch of training was in progress and appealed to those who had yet to join to do so.
According to her, the trainees stand to gain a lot, including being awarded a certificate at the end of the training.
“We have more people online than offline now, so, the Google digital skills will create enabling environment for online businesses.
“The trainees will learn how to place online advert, create contents that will attract customers, set up online store, shop online,
check and send emails to customers, learn search engine optimisation and even set a feedback mechanism. (NAN)
