Dickson condoles with deceased paramount ruler’s family, Ofoni community

 

 

 

The lawmaker representing Bayelsa West, Senator Seriake Dickson has condoled with the family and Ofoni federated communities over the death of His Royal Highness, Auditor A. Onakpohor, Ogelle-owei 1, Amananaowei of Ofoni Federated Communities.

 

Senator Dickson expressed his condolence when he led a delegation of paramount rulers, political and opinion leaders to Ofoni federated communities.

He extolled the leadership qualities of the late Amananowei, describing him as a good leader and father who served his community, the Senatorial district and the state diligently.

While he recalled the unfortunate incident that led to the death of the paramount ruler, the lawmaker stated that in his political journey, he had never experienced any unfortunate incident of that sort that would claim the life of anyone and leave others injured.

Senator Dickson called on all to observe a minute silence in honour of the deceased and urged all to pray for the repose of the soul of the deceased and the comfort of the family and community in their trying period.

Speaking on behalf of the Traditional Rulers Council of Sagbama L.G.A, Chief Felagha Tounaregha, Amananowei of Toru-Orua and Chief Edward Oyaotuderikumor, Amananowei of Isampou Community in Ekeremor L.G.A both expressed condolences to the family and community, describing the late Amananowei as a great and loyal colleague of theirs.

They prayed to God to grant the soul of the deceased eternal repose and the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

In his remarks, Senator Lawrence Ewrhudjakpor, Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, on behalf of the family and the community received Senator Dickson and his delegation, thanking them for their solidarity in their trying moments.

Senator Ewrhudjakpor extolled the leadership strides of the deceased, describing him as a man who lived a life of service to the community, having risen through the rung of youth leader, community development committee chairman and Amananowei until his death, adding that he would be greatly missed.

He assured of the state government’s support to the family and community in giving a befitting burial to the late traditional ruler.
