The Itsekiri National Youth Congress (INYC) has endorsed the re-election bid of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State in the forthcoming general election.
The INYC President, Mr. Esimaje Awani, disclosed this in a press statement on Tuesday in Warri.
Awani said the endorsement was based on the development strides of the governor and the existing principle of power rotation among the three senatorial districts in the state.
He said the Delta Central and Delta South Districts had taken their shares adding that it was the turn of the Delta North Senatorial District.
He said it would be an injustice to the people of Delta if the governor was not allowed to consolidate on the growth he had made in the last four years.
“Being watchful of event and trend in the past three and half years, I have seen massive investments in our micro economy by the training of 20,000 persons in their choice enterprises.

“I have also read of 100,000 private sector jobs created through programs and activities of the state MDAs.
“There is massive road rehabilitation and huge wave of classroom renovation to create a better learning environment for the children and among others.
“With this stride in the right direction by this current administration, it will be a tragedy to stop this train of progress by not allowing the governor to consolidate on these achievements.
“Above all, by the existing principle of power rotation in the state, it is the turn of the Delta North to produce the governor,” he said.
Awani expressed joy at the peaceful conduct of political parties’ campaign rallies in the state, saying that there was no case of violence so far.
He also advised the electorate who had not collected their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to quickly do so and exercise their franchise. (NAN)
