The Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Kingsley Emu, disclosed this at Government House, Asaba, while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting presided over by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, saying, the decision of the State Government was prompted by rising incidents of vandalism, crime targeting public facilities and the citizens.
Dr. Emu said the ban, which was necessitated by frequently reported cases of vandalism of public facilities by the scavengers, would take effect immediately, though strict enforcement would commence on 1st June, 2024.
