Declare Dogara’s seat vacant, PDP urged the court

Anthony Iwuoma
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bauchi State chapter, has asked the court to declare vacant the seat of former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara.
This is a sequel to the defection of Dogara, representing Bogoro/Dass/Tafawa Balewa Federal Constituency, from the party to the All Progressives Congress, APC, in July.
The former speaker was initially a member of the APC before decamping to the PDP, which he now dumped to return to his former party.
However, the PDP wants the court to direct the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, to declare Dogara’s seat vacant in accordance to section 68 of the 1999 Constitution.
