Denmark Ambassador to Nigeria, Amb. Jesper Kemp, on Thursday, called for more involvement of women in the political sphere of the nation to create balance.
Kemp, represented by Mr. Per Christensen, the Consulate General and Trade Commissioner to Denmark, disclosed this at the Creative Entrepreneur Summit, with the title: “Cashing in on your creativity” held in Lagos.
“Looking at this arena, we have more ladies than men, what then is responsible for a lesser participation of ladies in politics?
“Ladies, go and register and get more actively involved in the politics of your nation,” Kemp said.
He also said that creativity had a positive developmental impact particularly with the growth of the entertainment industry.
“Creativity is turning ideas into businesses and there are plenty opportunities to take advantage of.
“In Denmark, creativity, innovation, is a public-private partnership and this has ensured maximum growth and stability.
“Many IT companies are financed by the government.
“With the way Nigeria is, renewable energy is something that should be very viable here.

“Recycled waste is being turned into business. That is what creativity can do for you, ” he said.
He said that the basic infrastructure he met when he first came into the country in 1978 when the population of Lagos was around three million was almost the same as now when the population has risen to about 20 million.
He called for an increase in basic infrastructure development to address the ever teeming population of the nation and to maximise its benefits.
Kemp urged for more private public partnerships to ensure the full exploitation of the industry for growth and sustainability.
He also called for an improvement in the pharmaceutical industry through involvement in advanced research beneficial to lives by its stakeholders.
According to him, to prevent corruption in Nigeria, there will be full implementation of cashless policy to trace financial transactions as it is done in his home country, Denmark.
“Government in Denmark has taken a decision that cash does not exist so as to be able to trace all financial transactions.
“Inspite of all the challenges that Nigeria faces, a large number of opportunities abound, If properly managed, ” he said.
Also, Mr. Peter Bankole, the Director of the Enterprise Development Center, Lagos Business School, in his address urged Nigerians to convert their creativity into business ideas for improved standard of living and sustainability.
Earlier, Deyemi Okanlawon, an actor, had urged Nigerians to look beyond grades or what was studied at school.
He advised Nigerians to pursue their creativity passionately and dreams to ensure profitability.
“There is a huge opportunity in the creative space and with the right marketing of self and enterprise, maximum profitability is guaranteed, “ he said. (NAN).
