The Nigerian Governors Forum, NGF, on Friday promised to provide enabling environment for businesses to thrive.
The chairman of the forum, Ekiti State governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, while speaking on behalf of the governors after an inspection tour of ongoing Lekki Deepsea Port, Dangote Refinery and Dangote Fertiliser projects, told newsmen that Alhaji Dangote investment in the refinery , health and education is a testimony that if given the right environment, private businesses can thrive.
He thanked Dangote for his investments and assured him of the support of the forum.

We are determined to achieve result and this tour and this projects is something that will linger in our memory. We want to thank you for the support you have given to Nigeria Governors Forum. Your partnership with Bill Gates Foundation to reduce child and maternal deaths is a welcome development. We hope you shall not relent in giving hope for Nigeria,” Fayemi said.
He added: “As governor, it is not in our place to invest in project like this but we will provide enabling environment for projects like this to fly.”
The governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu described the projects as ‘strategic investment in Lagos.”” This is the largest refinery anywhere in the world. It is a strategic investment in Lagos. With this, we are bringing development to the community . We are going two roads connection to Epe and Ijebu-Ode and back to Lagos so that the products can be easily transported.”
Sanwo-Olu further said to avoid environmental degradation, the state environmental agency would work with management of the refinery ” to ensure there is no damage to the community.”
While thanking the governors for inspecting the projects, Alhaji Aliko Dangote promised to continue to invest in Nigerian economy .
” I will continue to make all Nigerians proud and one of the areas I will continue to invest is in health and education” he promised.
The Dangote Refinery is a $12billion project and when completed would 650,000 barrels per day and 30million tonnes per annum.
