Imo State governor, Emeka Ihedioha has shown how transparent and honest he wants to be in the running of the state with the Dan Anyiam Stadium contract.
The governor and his deputy did not leave the award of the Dan Anyiam Stadium contract in the hands of anybody as the duo personally supervised the open bidding process last Friday right inside the edifice.
Ihedioha who used his personal funds to renovate the dilapidated arena before his inauguration May 29, has made it clear that he wants to celebrate his first 100 days in office there with the stadium completely transformed.
With four contractors on line to do the job, Ihedioha who was away in Russia ordered that the job should not be given out, even as he directed the quartet to prepare for open bidding right in front of Imo sports stakeholders. That was done on Friday to the delight of everybody with the governor seeing for himself what the contractors have to offer.
Ihedioha during the open bidding process said he wants the very best for the state and that he wants to be transparent and open as his government would do things differently.
The governor after engaging the contractors said whoever gets the job would get prominent Imolites to sign as their guarantor.
“If you fail to deliver, we will go for those who guaranteed you and throw them into jail,” the governor stated insisting that he is not ready to waste Imo people’s money.
