About 60 persons, yesterday, escaped death, when popular Metro View Hotel, collapsed in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State Capital.
According to the report, the management of the hotel, had noticed a crack on some of the pillars, and had commenced renovations.

Chief Austin Orji, a member of the hotel management, said the building, collapsed in the process of the renovation.
The hotel, which was commissioned on the 28 of May, 2005, by former Governor Martins Elechi, have been sealed, pending the outcome of the investigation by the current government.
